Come enjoy hands-on activities in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM)
that will surely inspire children and adults alike!
At Exploration Day you will find:
• interactive activities
• multimedia presentations
• student developed displays and activities
• planetarium shows
• atmospheric pressure experiments that will crush a 55 gallon drum
• release of a high altitude balloon that will reach heights of 2,000 feet
• dueling rocket launches, which will go higher?
Location
Exploration Day will be held at the Bryce Jordan Center (BJC) in
State College, Pennsylvania. The 16,000 seat Jordan Center hosts
circuses, sports exhibitions, family shows, commencements, lectures,
and Big Ten Basketball, as well as some of the top-name performers
in the music entertainment industry….and now Exploration Day!
This year, Exploration Day will take place on the concourse and arena
levels. Leisurely explore the booths that will line the walls of the corridor
that circles the main event hall and then go down to the arena floor to
find larger exhibits like the planetarium and ride-able robots.
Parking
Parking is FREE at the BJC! See the parking section for more information.
Food
The Bryce Jordan Center has 11 concession stands around the concourse level including Papa John’s Pizza and Subway.
You won’t have to leave the Exploration Day excitement to have lunch!
Clothing
There will be indoor and outdoor activities. We encourage wearing layers to account for the unpredictable State College weather.
